Developing new arts activity

Through applications to our Lottery funding programmes we’re able to fund projects that develop new arts activity, supporting individuals, communities and organisations.

As well as meeting the Council’s strategic aims, applications must demonstrate benefit to the people of Wales across all regional, cultural and economic sectors.

Consultation on the Arts Council of Wales Lottery strategy 2019-2024

We want you to help us decide how Lottery funding should be spent best over the next 5 years.

In our new Corporate Plan: For the Benefit of All, we talk about the need to make sure that everyone in Wales should have the chance to enjoy and take part in the arts. It doesn’t matter where you live, how old you are, or what is your background and identity, you should have access to the best Wales has to offer. How we share our Lottery funding will help us make sure that the arts truly are for everyone, not just the few.

Our consultation paper contains some key questions that we would like you to think about and respond to. We know that you will probably have other ideas that you want to share, and we’d like to hear about those too. Although we may not be able to adopt every suggestion, we will think very carefully about what you are saying and do our best to take your views into account.

There are a number of ways to respond to the consultation.
You can download the word document below and either email it back to us on or print and post it back to:
