Access to the office is across level pathways with no steps and no ramps steeper than 1:20. Wheelchair users and other disabled visitors enter the office using the main entrance door along with all other visitors. Access to the general office and meeting rooms is by means of a fully compliant electric lift and staff will be available in the reception area to assist with access if required.

Parking Arrangements

There are a limited number of Disabled Car Parking spaces that may be made available for use by Arts Council of Wales visitors within the Wales Millennium Centre. Spaces must be booked in advance and the visitor’s host will confirm if a space is available.

There are also 12 designated free on-street disabled parking spaces along Bute Place, six adjacent to the Wales Millennium Centre and an additional six spaces on the opposite side of the road, alongside the Red Dragon Centre.

Limited parking may be available for visitors in the undercover disabled parking facility in the Wales Millennium Centre. The host will check availability with the Facilities Officer and a space will be reserved if available.

The WMC disabled parking facility is accessible from Pierhead Street at the side of the Wales Millennium Centre.

The driver should report to the security staff based in the Gatehouse at the entrance to the WMC staging area and will be directed to the reserved space.

A further 72 designated chargeable disabled car parking spaces are located on the ground floor of the "Waterside" multi-storey car park, accessible from Pier Head Street.

Toilet Facilities

Toilet facilities are available on all floors all easily accessible by wheelchair users.

Hearing Aid Users

The Cardiff office Reception and meeting room is fitted with a hearing induction loop.

Registered Assistance Dogs

Registered Assistance Dogs will be permitted in the office by prior arrangement with the visitor’s host.

Emergency Evacuation

Arts Council of Wales recognises that the safety and welfare of visitors is paramount and our emergency evacuation procedures require staff who are hosting meetings to be responsible for the safe evacuation of their guests. In order to achieve this objective it is necessary for the meeting host to assess any special needs of guests and to agree a suitable Emergency Evacuation Plan for individuals.
