Funding the arts in Wales

Importance of the Arts

We want to increase the funds that are available for the arts in Wales. Broadly defined, we believe that the creative and cultural industries are a vital engine for Wales’ economy. They contribute directly in terms of job and wealth creation, through the creation, distribution and retail of goods and services.

Our Fund

There are six main ways which Arts Council of Wales currently fund the arts:

• Revenue funding
• Stategic funds
• Lottery capital
• Film production and exhibition
• Collectorplan
• 'Open to Application' Lottery funding

Investment Review

Arts Council of Wales continues to support revenue funded organisations and offer advice and to those organisations affected by our Investment Review.
