Arts Council of Wales | How will leaving the EU affect you and the arts in Wales?

How will leaving the EU affect you and the arts in Wales?

Following the recent EU Referendum vote to leave the EU, it is the intention of Arts Council of Wales to work with the arts sector to better understand the implications and to support the sector going forward. We have issued an initial response to the Referendum outcome and a briefing paper, as well as some links to other responses which can be found on our website here and which will be updated.

We would like to understand in more detail the likely impact that withdrawal from the EU will have on you or your organisation. We are inviting responses from individual artists, from arts organisations and from other organisations who have worked or are working in the arts sector and wider creative industries who would like to contribute to the data gathering

To do this, we'd appreciate it if you would complete a short voluntary survey about funding, partnerships and movement of artists. There is also an opportunity at the end to highlight other issues which you think are relevant.

You don’t need to fill in every field if it’s not relevant. All responses are anonymous and confidential, and will not be used to identify individual organisations or artists. The closing date for responses is Wednesday 24 August.

Your responses will enable us to better represent the case for the arts and their place in the considerations of the implications of the UK’s withdrawal from the EU as Welsh Government and Westminster address this.

Wales Arts International is conducting this survey alongside our colleagues in Arts Council England, and will work with colleagues in Creative Scotland, Arts Council Northern Ireland, British Council, Creative Industries Federation and other bodies to systematically collect and share data, in order that we'll be able to have effective and informed conversations with ministers and officials across governments as they plan for our future relationship with the EU. We will publish the survey findings in due course.

Many thanks for taking the time to participate, we greatly appreciate this and hope you will see the importance of doing this at this time.
